Raise the Ridlon Schoolhouse

HHS has embarked upon an important project to preserve one of Hiram's icons – the Ridlon Schoolhouse, the oldest remaining one-room schoolhouse. It was opened in 1819 by William Stanley for whom Stanley Pond is named. Volunteers have measured the building, deconstructed and stored original timbers pending funds to rebuild on the Ossipee Valley Fairgrounds of the Ossipee Valley Agricultural Society, the property of one of our partners in this project.
